Poverty: Poverty is about not having enough money to meet basic needs including food, clothing and shelter.

However, poverty is more, much more than just not having enough money.

The World Bank Organization describes poverty in this way: “Poverty is hunger. Poverty is lack of shelter.

COPS serves a significant need in McLean County, where approximately 10.7% of residents live in poverty. Prince’s hands-on approach includes being a mentor and navigator for her clients, assisting them in finding clothing, furnishing homes, and accessing additional services. She envisions expanding COPS with a larger storefront and additional staff, as well as opening an overnight shelter to further support those in need.
